Liverpool midfielder, Emre Can said that the speculation surrounding the transfer of fellow team-mate, Philippe Coutinho will not be a distraction to the rest of the players.
Emre revealed that all players’ minds are on the pitch, and not in the gossip columns of the Brazilian, who is desperate to secure a move to Barcelona.
He said, “[Speculation is] no problem for us. “Nobody in the team speaks about that.
“Of course, if Philippe stays with us everybody is happy,” the German said.
“In my eyes, he is one of the best players in the world,” Emre said.
“But if he goes, if he wants to go, then everybody will wish him the best and we have to go again,” The 23-year-old concluded.
Coutinho has missed the Reds’ opening two games of the season with a sore back, and is doubtful for Saturday’s clash with Crystal Palace.
In his absence, Jurgen Klopp’s men have drawn at Watford and secured a first-leg lead in their Champions League play-off with Hoffenheim.
