Newcastle sign Salomon Rondon on loan from West Brom

Newcastle United have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Venezuelan international Salomon Rondon on a season-long loan deal.

Rondon scored 24 Premier League goals since joining the Baggies three years ago , but couldn ’ t prevent West Brom’ s relegation to the Championship last season.

“ When we were looking for options up front , we knew how important experience would be . Salomon has been in the Premier League for a while and he knows how demanding it is, ” Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez said in a club statement .

Benitez and the Newcastle fans’ frustration at owner Mike Ashley ’s refusal to match the big spending of their Premier League competitors has continued for another transfer window as Ashley refused to meet West Brom ’s asking price for a permanent transfer.

However , Rondon is a fifth summer recruit after the arrivals of Martin Dubravka, Kenedy , Ki Sung-yueng, Fabian Schär and Yoshinori Muto.

“ The clubs were talking for a long time and now I’ m focused on the season to help my team mates to get the points to do well this season ,” said Rondon .

“ It ’s one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I knew about the interest of the gaffer , so I’ m happy to be here. ”

Former Super Eagles and Inter Milan striker, Obinna Victor Nsofor, has been granted Italian Citizenship.

The 31-year-old Nigerian footballer who last played for South African Premier Soccer League side Cape Town City took to his Instagram page to celebrate after becoming a citizen of Italy.

Sharing a video of himself dancing while showing his Italian passport, Nsofor who is based in Italy wrote:

‘I want to thank God almighty for doing this for me ?? thank you Jesus for loving me so well?? I also want to appreciate everyone that has help me in one way or the other to achieve this, I’m grateful, and to my lovely queen @anastasija_radi thank you always for making me smile, I love you ??.’

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo wedded his lovely spouse, Ebhota Bethel in a quiet traditional wedding ceremony in Warri, Delta State Completesportsnigeria. com.

The ceremony had in attendance Etebo’s nuclear family and friends at the bride family house in Warri CSN gathered.


Etebo who is currently on the books of Stoke City explained to Completesportsnigeria.com why he chose the Bethel.

The 23-year-old star will not be available for Stoke City trip to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Saturday due to suspension.


The Nigerian international has played 14 English Championship games for the Potters since he joined the club in the summer.

Belgium star, Eden Hazard who is ‘torn’ between extending his Chelsea contract and pursuing a dream move to Real Madrid, has said that he doesn’t want regrets as he considers his future.

Eden Hazard says he does not “want to have any regrets” as he considers whether to sign a new contract with Chelsea or leave Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports.

The Belgian forward has 18 months remaining on his Chelsea deal, and has openly questioned whether he is willing to extend his stay with the Blues.

Hazard has also made no secret of his desire to play for Real Madrid, and when discussing his future with French-Monegasque radio station RMC, said: “The new (Chelsea) coach (Maurizio Sarri) thinks football like me, so we’ll see.

“The family is in London, I’m also going to be 28. I do not want to have any regrets at the end of my career.

“It’s a decision I’m going to make, I do not know when, but I’ll take it. You know me, I’ve always loved Real, even before (Zinedine) Zidane. We’ll see what happens.
