Manchester United finally offer Martial to Chelsea for Willian

Manchester United have made a U-turn, and have agreed to offer Anthony Martial to Chelsea in return for Willian.

United hierarchy had earlier opted out of the deal due to the age bracket between the two stars.

Martial has been linked with an exit from the club after being publicly reprimanded by United boss, Jose Mourinho.

He had also refused to fly back to the team’s pre-season tour in the United States following the birth of his child.

Mirror reports that both players are consensually valued at around £75m which will facilitate a swap deal.

Martial returned to training at Carrington on Friday morning and has been included in the United squad for the final pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Willian irritated new Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri by arriving back late from his post- World Cup break because of passport issues.

The report claims Chelsea are cautious to avoid a repeat of Nemanja Matic’s move to Old Trafford for which they were criticised by fans and experts.

However, they would be getting the better end of this deal considering Martial is seven years younger to Willian.

Man Utd sack Jose Mourinho: Red Devils part way with manager after poor start to the season

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United following their disappointing start to the season.

The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table but have already lost five times in 17 matches, leaving them 19 points behind leaders Liverpool and 11 off fourth-placed Chelsea in the fight for Champions League places.

That follows a summer transfer window in which Mourinho routinely complained at a lack of signings, with the Portuguese unable to persuade the club’s hierarchy to sign a new centre-back.

Mourinho has continued to drop hints that he remains unhappy at that failure to spend big, and he now leaves after two-and-a-half years in charge at Old Trafford, with his final match in charge Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool.

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect,” a statement read.

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”

Lukaku’s first touch is bad, he loses the ball a lot – Mourinho

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has slated Romelu Lukaku’s first touch, following their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Mourinho, however, feels he had a good game, despite failing to register a single shot on target.

“I think he didn’t have a bad game at all.

“I think he fought his heart, he had good movement, he set up the goal.

“He was lively, he had good movement, he had good interactions.

“Sometimes his first touch is not the best and he loses lots of ball in the first touch, but today it did not happen.
