Everton signs France’s Lucas Digne from Barcelona for £18m

Everton has announced the signing of France international Lucas Digne from Barcelona.

The 25-year-old and former Paris Saint-Germain left-back signed a five-year deal worth £18m to be at Goodison Park until 2023.

Everton is a big club with a great history. I want to play games, win games and excite the fans with the quality of our football,’ Digne told Everton TV.

‘I played good football in Rome and I played well, too, in Barcelona. I progressed a lot as a player and as a person by playing with the best players in the world.

‘When you play with the best players it helps you build your character and, of course, it helps on the training ground and during games, too, because you want to give the best of you.

‘I want to show my best football here and discover the best league in the world. Everybody loves the Premier League. I am loving the fact I am coming here.’

Everton coach Marco Silva also expressed his delight after the defender signed for the club.

It is important to say that he is a player who, from the first moment he was contacted, showed enormous desire to play at Everton,’ Silva said.

‘Lucas is a player who will add competitiveness in a position where we only had Leighton Baines last season and he is accustomed to winning. This is his mentality having captured titles in his career and having these on his resume.’

Former Super Eagles striker Obinna Nsofor celebrates as he becomes a citizen of Italy 

Former Super Eagles and Inter Milan striker, Obinna Victor Nsofor, has been granted Italian Citizenship.

The 31-year-old Nigerian footballer who last played for South African Premier Soccer League side Cape Town City took to his Instagram page to celebrate after becoming a citizen of Italy.

Sharing a video of himself dancing while showing his Italian passport, Nsofor who is based in Italy wrote:

‘I want to thank God almighty for doing this for me ?? thank you Jesus for loving me so well?? I also want to appreciate everyone that has help me in one way or the other to achieve this, I’m grateful, and to my lovely queen @anastasija_radi thank you always for making me smile, I love you ??.’

Super Eagles Star Etebo Gets Married In Warri


Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo wedded his lovely spouse, Ebhota Bethel in a quiet traditional wedding ceremony in Warri, Delta State Completesportsnigeria. com.

The ceremony had in attendance Etebo’s nuclear family and friends at the bride family house in Warri CSN gathered.


Etebo who is currently on the books of Stoke City explained to Completesportsnigeria.com why he chose the Bethel.

“She has been there for me and she’s the mother of my son,” Etebo told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“We barely had time to do this and I felt it was necessary to get the marital rites done with before the year ends.”

Etebo joins the host of Super Eagles players to have quit bachelorhood.

The 23-year-old star will not be available for Stoke City trip to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Saturday due to suspension.


The Nigerian international has played 14 English Championship games for the Potters since he joined the club in the summer.

Belgium star, Eden Hazard who is ‘torn’ between extending his Chelsea contract and pursuing a dream move to Real Madrid, has said that he doesn’t want regrets as he considers his future.

Eden Hazard says he does not “want to have any regrets” as he considers whether to sign a new contract with Chelsea or leave Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports.

The Belgian forward has 18 months remaining on his Chelsea deal, and has openly questioned whether he is willing to extend his stay with the Blues.

Hazard has also made no secret of his desire to play for Real Madrid, and when discussing his future with French-Monegasque radio station RMC, said: “The new (Chelsea) coach (Maurizio Sarri) thinks football like me, so we’ll see.

“The family is in London, I’m also going to be 28. I do not want to have any regrets at the end of my career.

“It’s a decision I’m going to make, I do not know when, but I’ll take it. You know me, I’ve always loved Real, even before (Zinedine) Zidane. We’ll see what happens.
