2018 Ballon d’Or: Angry Ronaldo sisters reveal who made Juventus star lose award to Modric

The family of Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted angrily after the Portugal captain failed to grab his sixth Ballon d’Or award on Monday night.

Ronaldo sisters, Elma and Kate, blamed those they referred to as the mafia after he lost out on the award to former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric.

Modric picked up the award following his role in winning the Champions League and reaching the World Cup final.

However Ronaldo’s sister, Elma didn’t take it well.

“Unfortunately this is the world we live in, rotten, with mafia and f******g money,” she wrote on Instagram.

Zidane warned over taking Man United job after Mourinho’s sack

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has issued out warning to former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane over taking the Red Devils job.

Neville issued out the warning after United sacked manager, Jose Mourinho on Tuesday.

Zidane has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few months.

Neville has now warned Zidane to make sure he has “his own ground rules” and the “correct” support at the club if he eventually takes United job, else he will not succeed.

“Zinedine Zidane has won three European Cups in the last four seasons,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“From that point of view, I don’t think anyone could argue with his pedigree.

“He’s been world class on the pitch, he’s been world class in the dugout at Real Madrid. He wouldn’t be my choice in the sense I would choose Mauricio Pochettino… but on the other hand you couldn’t argue with the introduction of Zinedine Zidane because of his record in the past four years.

“What I would say at this moment in time, any manager coming into that football club needs to make sure they come in with their own ground rules. Make sure the support around them is correct or they won’t succeed.

“If Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham are buying better players, getting the first in on players, a better recruitment department and better support network, then they’ll still do better.

“Clubs outspent United for many, many years 10, 12 years ago and Manchester United were still winning leagues. It’s not always about the amount of money you throw at it, there needs to be something more than that.”

Man United will now tackle Cardiff City this weekend in the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford.

Man Utd sack Jose Mourinho: Red Devils part way with manager after poor start to the season

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United following their disappointing start to the season.

The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table but have already lost five times in 17 matches, leaving them 19 points behind leaders Liverpool and 11 off fourth-placed Chelsea in the fight for Champions League places.

That follows a summer transfer window in which Mourinho routinely complained at a lack of signings, with the Portuguese unable to persuade the club’s hierarchy to sign a new centre-back.

Mourinho has continued to drop hints that he remains unhappy at that failure to spend big, and he now leaves after two-and-a-half years in charge at Old Trafford, with his final match in charge Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool.

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect,” a statement read.

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
